Booking an Appointment
  • If you are booking your first appointment with us. Please arrive at least 20-30 minutes prior to your appointment to complete any necessary paperwork and to get acquainted. This will allow you to fully unwind and enjoy your allotted time. Please understand that if services begin late modifications may have to be made to keep upcoming services on schedule.
  • If you are feeling ill, have a fever, infection, contagious rashes or open wounds, please cancel or reschedule appointment.
  • Please inform us if you have any medical conditions or special requirements.
  • Dress comfortably. If possible please leave jewelry at home to avoid the risk of it being lost or forgotten. We recommended that you do not bring your valuables with you, as all jewelry needs to be removed prior to massage treatments. We will not be held responsibility for any loss of valuables.
  • Please turn off your cell phone or put the ringer on vibrate mode.  This will enable you to relax more completely during your massage treatment.
  • Massage Packages and Gift Certificates are non-refundable and subject to the cancellation policy.Gift certificates have no cash value.  We kindly request that you arrange your treatments well in advance…
Late Arrivals
  • Appointments will be held for 15 minutes, after this grace period we consider this a “ No Show” and the appointment may be given away if we haven’t heard from you… So if you are running late please give us a call!
24 hour notice is required to cancel or reschedule appointment. Multiple services and Packages require 48 hours prior notice for cancellation.

A cancellation or rescheduling of less than 24 hours may result in the full rate being charged.

How does Thai massage differ from Swedish massage?

Besides the obvious differences between the two types of massage, there are more complex distinctions to Thai massage’s holistic approach to bodywork than in Swedish. Swedish massage is restricted to manipulating muscles and soft tissue; it can provide relaxation, relieve tension in muscles and fascia, or release knots with trigger point or neuromuscular therapy. All of this is beneficial and is a necessary component in healing what ails us in the Western world. The complexity of Thai massage’s nature, however, targets the energy flow throughout the body, as well as addressing the interconnectedness of all the body systems. In Thai, all the muscles, tissues and organs are renewed with stretching, compression and acupressure—improving health in the whole body. The rhythmic flow of Thai also brings forth a more meditative and balancing experience. Most people describe the effects of Thai to be “more profound” than Swedish.

Does it hurt?

Most of the Thai massage experience will be very pleasurable. However, like other deep tissue modalities, Thai massage can have varying degrees of intenseness associated with areas of the body that have energy blocks. Although discomfort may be mild to moderate, such sensations are usually brief, followed by a feeling of release and well being—after the blockage has been cleared. Communication should always be encouraged by your therapist, so they know when pressure should be decreased or increased to your comfort level.

Is it normal to experience body aches after receiving a Thai massage?

For some people, mild body aches may occur following an intensive bodywork session, and is a normal response. Thai massage addresses many muscles that don’t get used in daily life, even if you happen to be athletic. This is not a bad sign, but a good indication that the body is starting to open up. With continuous treatments, the body will adjust and the aches will diminish. Also, the aches don’t persist for very long—they usually dissipate within a day or two. Staying active and increasing your water intake will also help to flush the toxins that were released from the body during the massage, and will help to reduce any body aches as well.

Is it OK to eat before/after the session?

In order to have more energy in the body available for the Work and since an important part of the treatment may involve pressing points around the abdomen, it is better not to eat for at least 1 hour before the session.

To allow the process to continue, as it does, after the practitioner ends the actual session, it is better not to eat, bathe or do strenuous exercise for at least an hour afterwards. Drinking copious amounts of warm water or hot tea is highly beneficial and necessary to flush out toxins that may have been released during the treatment.

What do you suggest for my first appointment?

We always suggest that each of my guests start out with a 90-minutes Traditional Thai massage. In Thailand a Thai massage can last 2 hours or more depending on the individuals needs. We like to start each of my guests with at least a 90-minute Traditional Thai massage so that there is time to perform bodywork over the entire body and have time to focus on the areas that need more attention.

The Thai's understand that a problem in the back, for example, is related to issues else where in the body. In order to fully address a problem area in the back its important to also spend time on the legs, arms and neck. We have seen significant results that benefit my guests when they schedule sessions for 90 minutes or greater.

Initially, We recommend a 2 hour session every 2 weeks, then monthly once the body becomes more flexible. More than a month apart is too long.

Is it done on a table, bed or the floor?

Traditional Thai massage is always done on the floor, but elements of the practice are being effectively adapted by practitioners more accustomed to working on tables or beds. However, many of the advanced movements and stretches can only be done safely and effectively on the floor.

Is it safe for old people, children, injured or sick people?

Since the work is tailor made for each individual in each different treatment session, it can be done safely, with certain modifications to accommodate contra - indications as needed with all the above - mentioned types of person with remarkable results.

What if we have special health considerations?

Please notify us if you are pregnant, have high blood pressure, other physical ailments, or if you have any allergies. If you have any concerns regarding your health or body please let us know. We recommend that food or alcohol not be consumed before or immediately after your massage treatments.
